Anybody have experience with Wilderness System's Pungo series?

I'm transitioning from canoes to kayaks and I have some buddies taking me out early next month to learn. I know Backpacker has some sales going on with the Pungos, and they are going to be demoing them at the LSU lakes May 10th. Basically I'm just trying to see if anyone uses them or has experience with them and recommends them.

What are you going to be doing in it? Cruising? Fishing? It's a great kayak for just paddling around and doing very light fishing (1 pole minimal equipment). It comes with the Phase 3 seat which kicks the shite out of anything you could get at Academy. You could paddle all day in it and be fine. Won't be able to stand in it are anything like that.

I'm just going to be cruising, occasionally with my dog, on different lakes and such. I live right near LSU so I'll be putting it on the LSU/Capitol lakes like crazy.

If the dog is not a huge dog it could probably fit in the open back hatch actually. The Pungo 120 would fit your needs pretty well. Being 50 lbs it makes it super easy to transport. It's a good all around cruising kayak that can do lakes or streams/rivers.

Thanks
She's currently at about 8 pounds but as a collie/lab mix she'll max out around 40-45.
