Anybody have any luck getting a rangefinder/scope/etc. repaired by Leupold?

I have a Leupold RX-600 that won't range. It is about 8 years old so long past the warranty. It turns on and cycles but rarely displays a range, usually it just blinks and shows the reticle again. I emailed Leupold about it and went through their diagnostics. They didn't work so they said ship it in and supplied an address.
My main concern is it costing 100 or so dollars to repair, at that point I might as well cut my losses and buy a new one. Is the repair process pretty expensive? I figured I'd ask in case it could save me the trouble of shipping it in.

They may end up doing it for free or replacing it. I heard they have done that a few times when things don't work even our of warranty. I would say send it. If they don't the Sig Kilo2200 is a great choice that isn't too expensive.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. They said the repair turnaround is 4 weeks. I hope I don't have a buck at around 50 yards this weekend.

Based on my experience, Leupold has the best warranty / service department in the business. I have read dozens of stories where people sendt in their Leupold product for repair, and a newer placement model was returned to the customer. My advice, send in your RF as directed and see what happens.

I had a scope that the adjustment dial seized up on that was 10+ years old. I contacted them and sent it in for repairs. They serviced/fixed the scope and it was at no charge. It took roughly the month they had said.

Tried to get a leupold vxII mounted and bore sighted. Gunsmith said my leupold windage was off and he couldn’t get it bore sighted. Aldo that it looked a little cloudy around the edges. I sent it to leupold with those comments.
I bought the scope used almost 40 years ago, so I know it was old. They sent me a brand new one in a sealed box. No bill, no shipping charges, no questions.
Great customer service.
