anybody got a Prodrive motor

anybody got any feedback pos./neg. on these?
got a shot at a 2010 X27 with about 180 hrs on it, with auto reverse
he's damn sure not giving it away so any info helps

It's one of the most popular surface drives out there. You're ok if the price is right.

make sure you can use it where you hunt...lot of HP limits showing up on WMA's and federal reserves...

I'd recommend a 36 over the 27 if you carry any kind of load at all

yeah was looking at a gator tail 25 but this came up
but the gator is belt driving and pro has gears right?

Prodrive does have gears. Gator tail is belt driven, but I wouldn't let that scare you off. The belts are damn tough. They both have pluses and minuses. It would be a tough decision ifi had to choose one. I like the full power reverse, but am not crazy about the automatic crap that spins the foot around. I know they had problems at one time with the hoses busting because of extreme pressure.

I wouldnt buy a 27 if it was me unless you hunt with two guys max and arent in a hurry. I have had 3 prodrives for what its worth.

yeah the more i read up on the 27 i think i'll pass on this deal, but last question,
with the push button reverse if you are in some stumps and tree limbs how do you turn the lower unit around

trim the motor out the water if you still cant then you are screwed. I mean you probably wont use reverse all that much on a prodrive. I normally just pushed off unless i was really stuck.
