A friend of mind at work has one on his new F150. He likes it. It actually looks really functional compared to a normal tool box. Especially if you don't have anything big.

I have those stupid fold out plastic things in that space. I'm kind of getting tired
Of them being there although they have proved useful at times.

I had a different brand, it was nice. I didnt get one in next truck, just use a 2x12(with some holes drilled in to lighten) slid into the slot/groove behind the wheel well and a 5 gallon buckets with these for all my junk

If you're not storing too much stuff have you looked at the storage organizers that fit under the back seat?

i thought about doing something like this dk when im gonna put a tonneau on though and without it those items would be easy to swipe.

but then again withsomething like the swing box the lock could be picked pretty easily or just pickup and walked off with

I had one under a tonneau cover, it was very handy. I kept most used things in there like tow straps, gloves, and few small tools.

I have both driver and passenger side in my 13 Ram 1500. They're awesome.

There is a hole for a padlock so that they can't be lifted out of the truck. It would annoy me to have to unlock that every time I wanted to swing them out, but at least they would be secure.

They rattle like hell. The back half of the bed has to be empty for them to swing. Having to unlock it for them to swing out sucks too, but if it's what you want go for it.
