there is nothing unique about Albany. You will have to use yelp and see where you want to go in Albany. That town has seen its better days. It was part of the meth triangle that ravished Oregon years ago.
You'll want to go to Portland. I can recommend restaurants there and places to see.
If you get a bike I highly suggest you ride over to Bend.

Corvallis has some good stuff and its less than a fifteen minute drive...
