FIL owns about 500 acres in Tylertown not to far from there. Slightly better hunting than the piney woods of the Florida parishes.

We've got land in Monticello. There are some nice deer around.

I've got land outside of Tylertown. The deer and turkey population is real good. The only problem we have with the area is poaching. We lose nice deer every year from rednecks shooting off the road and spotlighting. There's a lot of country trash around there that think they own everything

Father in law lives up there and has some land....I don't think he sets the world on fire, but I think the hunting is decent.

I live between Liberty and Brookhaven. The deer hunting is pretty good but not great. My wife killed a very nice deer last year behind our house. I saw 4 this morning drinking from the pond. The numbers are there but it ain't the Delta.

Thanks for the help, looking for a place to get away more than to be the best hunting in the world, but would like to have a reasonable chance of seeing wildlife on a regular basis. I am not as angry at the deer as I used to be, I got a few nice ones on the wall, but would like to kill one a year (doe would be fine) to make sausage and such, but would like to be able to put friends and guests in a situation to where they could kill something.

That is the driving force, land prices in Adams and Wilkinson counties have gone plumb stupid

No hydrants around here lol. There are several ponds/lakes close by that are draft sites for the VFD.
I live in the sticks and wouldn't change a thing.

That's it....about 10 minutes south of me. Deer everywhere in that area. I dodge them regularly on the way to work.
