Just want real world info.
Good,Bad etc?
Problems,quality issues,real-world mileage?(5.3 ltr engine)

Considering jumping on board with the current incentives but wanted any and all OBfirst-hand experience with these.

TIA

From everything I've read and heard, they are basically the same as the old ones just with a different exterior, a much nicer interior, and some steps built into the bumper lol.

The windshield size throws me off a lot compared to my f150. Drove a fully loaded GMC to and from Orlando last week and it's a pretty smooth drive and averaged around 16.5

ETA: oh, and Chevy/GMC bumper step >>>>>> F150 stripper pole

I'm looking into getting one of these as well, either 2014 or 2015 in the next few months. What incetives are you referring to?

Love my Sierra. It's 2wd though

I've averaged 28.0 mpg within 25 miles before and around 25 mpg within 50 miles.

Quiet cab also is great for long trips.

How about you hand calc jt and get back to us...

ETA: and I can reset the computer on my truck and get it to show 50+ as my best. Computer doesn't mean much.

The top and bottom numbers are both "Averages"

The bottom is my best average
The top is my current average in the last 25/50 miles

Was this downhill with a tailwind at 55?

Or do you have a v6 single cab 2WD?

I "averaged" (your definition, not mine) 99mpg in my wife's Yukon XL going downhill while only using 4 cylinders for 5 miles down a mountain once.

I know what you're saying. If that was the case, my "best" would be 99 then right?

No, when I was averaging 28.0 both the top (Average) and bottom (Best) were the same number. The bottom is simply stating the best average and the top (although it says just average) is stating the current.

The "Average" is the current average from the most recent 25 miles.

ETA: I mean I'm not trying to make it seem like I get 25 mpg a tank just stating the fuel economy possibilities for the OP for Sierra's...

I understood the 'Best' MPG to be the best MPG at any one moment, not 25/50 miles. i.e. coasting downhill, etc.

But my truck dont have that fancy gizmo. My calculation is based on Gas receipt and calculator.

Nah, see on the left where it says 0 mpg...that's the current mpg while you're driving.. It's always fluctuating unless you have it on cruise and are on flat ground.

Like tenfoe said, I constantly get 99 mpg when I'm just coasting, but that's not the average.

I suppose you are correct, as long as the OP is only worried about driving his truck 25 miles.

As long as we are talking about "Possibilities", might as well say it's realistically possible to "Average" somewhere between 1 and 99 miles per gallon in that truck. I'm not trying to be a jerk...well maybe just a little. I'm sorry, bless your heart.

Nah, you're right the last 25 or 50 mile fuel economy is basically pointless. Just wanted to share my best for it
