Was hoping to hit up blackwater and throw some poppers on the river.

River gauge still shows 1.2 feet been low all week. But is forecast for 4 feet today. What the water look like if you passed over it

Curious as to why the jump up. Rain runoff way up river?

Dont waste your time. Still to high. Need at least one more week without any rain. If the river bumped up like you say. Then you will need two weeks with no rain

That's why I was confused reading the chart. It's showing that the river has been low all week. It didn't rain much yesterday across the region. Don't see a reason for the jump

It has been updated and now it isn't showing a jump. Steady at 0.3 feet

It was still too high in central yesterday but up around zachary may be better. But i always let it get low low and stay low for a while before i go.

Yea the few times I have gone I like it low and clear. Just trying to go off the online gauge sucks. Hence why I was looking for a visual report

Appreciate that. I only work 8-12 on Fridays so that's when I like to get out there. Short drive from the office. I imagine in the next few weeks it will get going as the water warms a little

I'm used to it living up in PA last few years. People wear waders in the summer. Water is still freezing. I'd rather be cold than sweating in waders. Everyone thought I was nuts

You get used to it after a few minutes, Ive never owned a pair of waders so Ive never had that option, plus having the waders on would make me a little nervous with all the soft sand you sink down in sometimes, you would be in a bind in waders filled wifh water and wet sand

I've have stepped in a hole before and they filled up. Wasn't that big of a deal. But it was limestone bottom. No issues with that.
