I went Tuesday 11/29/11. It was windy and we only picked up a handfull in the lake. We ending up getting a 4 man limit by moving around at some spots on the inside.

The lake should be good through February if you get good weather.

May be heading out there tomorrow. Friend of my dad said they caught 75 yesterday. I'll update tomorrow with results if we go.

Decade still on fire. Multiple reports of limits this am. Get in line w/ boats near middle of lake and drift. Neighbor had his 50 by 9 this am.

Despite the strong winds today we still managed 65 trout for the day. It was very spotty though...would hit a few drifting around the middle of Decade, then they'd turn off..and it also got too windy. So we headed into one of the "bays" on the left side of the lake and ended up finding a nice little spot that produced consistently.

Jordan

What color was working for y'all? Purple with chartreuse tails were what worked best for us last week.

Definitely anything chartreuse.

What worked best for us was some of those Berkeley swim baits with the tails dipped in chartreuse dye. Also had a bit of luck with a popping cork.

I don't even know if I'll be able to make another trip this year. Between finals this week, graduation, Christmas, and the weather getting consistently cold...it'll be tough to fit in a trip.

Here is a pic to make everyone jealous though:

i'm just kidding, i've got a boat and have been there only once before, a couple of years ago. had we not stopped to pull a boat in, we would have had 75. i think we were at 67 or so...

Nice.

Where do you normally fish out of? You from Houma?

To be honest, we are just learning how to fish in the Decade area. Usually we go across Decade to a little Redfish hole and load up on that. First time I've fished speck in the lake...and it's definitely full right now, I'd recommend a trip soon if you've got the itch.

Yeah that area is on fire right now. I too am learning the area having made around 5 trips there so far since I purchased my boat.

Fishing can't get much easier right now in Decade. If you don't limit you can't fish. I was down all last week and got tired of cleaning fish.
