Aim Surplus has a NEW Radical Firearms .300 BLACKOUT Rifle with a 12 inch FGS Hand Guard. This M4 is a law-enforcement grade Rifle assembled with mil-spec compliant parts. You will not find a better deal when it comes complete Rifle of this quality. It features a 16 inch, Melonited, 4150 Chrome Moly barrel with a 1:8 twist rate. $499.95 Is this a decent truck gun for the price?

I have one of their barrels. It's taken 1000+ rounds, some full auto, just fine.

Still accurate with no issues

300BLK ammo is too expensive for me to consider it a truck gun

I bought that same upper, except in 556. Shot about 120 rounds through it and the gas block came lose. At the time I didn't have a clue about ar's so I sent it back to them to fix it. I shipped it out on a Monday at 12, and it was back in my hands wednesday at 2pm. They emailed me when they received it, and emailed me when it left them. If you have a problem with it, they have incredible customer service. I say give it a try. Its not like its going to lose any value in the next couple of months.

Here's a Daniel defense barrel fwiw.

Not knocking DD as it's obviously a solid brand, just shows anyone can have a bad batch

Shoots fine. I hot my targets fine.

Do I shoot it with a scooe and count the hairs in between the shot groups?

I agree with that. Every company has lemons, Radical just has a bunch more than others. I will agree that their customer service is good.

There is a thread on AR15.com about it

Regardless of make it's a weird place for a barrel to fail

That is why I am doubtful. Reloads do funny things. See pic for example.

Allegedly a factory load.

For a barrel to crack like that and not bubble makes it look more like a manufacturing/material defect.

I'm not a huge radical fanboy or anything, I'll admit I got mine for the price point. It's just performed flawlessly for me and I know some people tend to rip the cheaper brands bc they dropped 5x the money on something comparable.
