Brother wanted to buy me a CZ455. The guy said that my brother cant do that. I said it is a gift which he can do. He said no. Next to us was a dad buying a Beretta Xtrema for his daughter. I pointed it out. He said I need to leave. I said ok.

since they were buying an extrema, id imagine it was a few years ago. i assure you that everyone currently on the gun counter is aware of gift policy and that it is perfectly legal. sorry about your bad experience

Yeah, it was 2 years ago. I will stop by there at some point. Looking to get a Ruger GP100 Match Champion in the near future.

I buy a lot from Heberts now. My wife has bought me 2 1911s and herself a carry .380 all without me being there. She isn't gun stupid but not an enthusiast by any means and they answered all her questions and took as long as she needed every time and never made her feel rushed or dumb. That goes a long way in my book even if I am paying a few dollars more.

I've been to Heberts 3 or 4 times. It just feels like they have zero respect for the customer when your in there.
Basically everyone I know that has been there feels the same way.
I don't know how they are still in business

I've heard the same things once or twice about Jims, but I've been there a good amount of times, and always found them helpful, and respectful. One guy took time to talk to me about starting out in reloading for about a half hour.

I had a bad experience with Hebert's and refuse to go back. I went over to Jim's and had it taken care of. I haven't been to Bowie's yet but will give them a shot.

I've only bought from Jim's but I had a good experience there. I was trying to choose between the Springfield XDS and the S&W Shield. They had both guns and let me finger frick both of them right there. I bought the gun and they gave us all a shirt. I'm not opposed to new places. I've bought quite a few things from Thompson Creek Sporting goods.

Also I think Ferrara has a guy working there named Taylor Pickerell or something to that effect who may be the biggest a-hole I've ever encountered on Facebook. So I'll never be going there.
