My stihl km90r suddenly stopped in the middle of running one day and I have changed fuel lines, spark plug, ignition, and carburetor trying to get it back running.

After putting the new carb on, I was able to get a few drops in the bulb then the compressed bulb won't refill. I loosed the gas cap in case some sort of vapor lock was happening but still nothing.

I took off the bulb filled it, then assembled the carb back on with a full bulb. I was able to fire off the filled primer bulb gas, but again it compressed down and won't fill again.

Everything is clear and new but still won't work.

I can't think of anything else to do to get gas to the engine.

You crossed the lines on the back of the bulb

Once you get the carb fixed remove spark arrestor from the muffler if it has one - screen's probably clogged with soot. bullshite shut my BG86 blower down. I took carb off, etc. removed spark arrestor and runs like a top now.

I took that off and cleaned it when it first killed out and wouldn't restart.

I guess I should add that I did send it to a lawnmower mechanic (not stihl mechanic though) and he gave up as well.

Seems fairly obvious you have a restriction in the intake fuel line.

Remove line from tank and pump bulb. Bulb should move air. Reinsert line into tank and make sure its not pinched.

The only things between the fuel and the bulb are the filter, the lines, and that little plate on the carb that the lines connect to. Did you crack those nipples on that little plate on the carb when you were connecting the new lines?

It's either a leak somewhere or too much vacuum in the tank

Just a shot in the dark, but try taking that plate off of the carb with the fuel lines and bulb still on. Pump the bulb to see if fuel comes out. You might be able to feel what's going on when pressing the bulb.

There's no cracks that I can see or hear. The bulb will push air in a get some fuel back just not enough to prime.

I can see the lines aren't pinched looking through the tank.

Is the bulb seated properly?

Take the bulb and that plate off of your old carb and put it on the new one to see what happens

I am guessing, but I would bet that there is a check valve at the inlet to the carburetor that is malfunctioning.

small hole in the diaphragm under the bulb. shouldn't cost more than a couple of bucks.

Have you check you tank to make sure there is not an obstruction at the outlet of the tank?

if you put on a new carb and new lines and in tank filter and it isn't completely filling the bulb during prime then you're really over thinking this.

Get you some fuel line. Disconnect the lines on the carb, hook new lines to the nipples on the carb, set new lines in a small bowl of fuel and prime. If you cannot get the carb to completely prime this way then you have a faulty carb.

Did your new carb come complete? New primer bulb and everything?
