Does anyone here actually buy primers online? I see no reason to spend an extra $25 on hazmat fees.
If they are unobtainable anywhere else I am guessing some people will buy them.
Good info on Tula.

I agree with all of Tiger's points.
As I said earlier, ammo demand >>> reloading demand
Yep. And there's no way to avoid the hazmat fee unless you can find primers locally, and right now they're nonexistent.
Refer to my previous post. Not recommended.

Components availabiiity is HORRIBLE right now. In some ways, avaiability problems are even worse for handloaders than those buying loaded ammo

I've never used any foreign primers so I can't vouch for their availability or quality.

My "post Sandy Hook" purchase of primers was online. Nevertheless, I've bought online only a few times. Previously I've been able to get primers locally at a decent price so that buying online was not needed. This time, I was unable to find some of the primers I needed locally; in addition, the ones available loacally were very expensive.
Yes, the Haz Mat fee is a problem and there's NO way around it. The Haz Mat fee is a way for the shipping companies to make some extra $$$. I've been told there's no siginificant difference in how they handle primers/powder than other packages. Never has been a reported shipping related safety issue w/ primers/powder. Same fee applies w/ buying powder and having it shipped. Even worse, if one buys powder AND primers at same time, one gets charged TWO separate Haz Mat fees! The best way to order powder/primers is to get some friends to go in w/ you to defray the shipping costs/Haz Mat fee. This is what I did w/ my last order. I ordered 4K primers for me and 4K for friends. The primers cost me $26/K; same primers at Bass Pro were $50/K. If considering a powder purchase, look at LINK / as they offer a flat shipping fee of $7.95.

Reloading ammo is fun, I used to help my dad when he was into it many years ago. We dint do much anymore due to the availability of quality bullets now in factory loads. We loaded Nosler Partitions in 308 & 270 for hunting back when factory loads had crap for bullets. IMO the Nosler partition is the best deer bullet, with their accubond a very close 2nd.
The ammo shortage is frustrating when you have people scouring the net, stores etc everyday purchasing everything for the sole purpose of reselling at a huge mark up. I understand why they're doing it and don't blame them for doing it but it still pisses me off.

From what i remember reading...there is a three tier supply system for ammo.
1.Military
2.Government
3.Civilian
