(Warning: The facts here may be seen as bragging, subtle or not and as too long. But you have been warned, so stop reading right here if this offends your delicate sensibilities, but be sure to downvote before leaving )

For to who hate me or my posts, sorry about that, I never personally attacked or insulted anyone. If you hate my posts, you are free to skip them. As a Quaker, I strive to live a humble, basic life and to not make enemies or engage people in fights. My apologies to any who were offended, annoyed or in any other way inconvenienced by my posts. That is never my intent.

Now to explain the property:

The entire property is well over a 100 meandering and diverse acres. Property is on either side of the levee/highway. 4 generations live on the property and the 3 houses are about half a mile apart. There are a few large pastures for the cows, horses, sheep, various birds, etc. There are also many pecan trees.

We (husband and I) claim about 25 acres to keep tamed and used for our purposes (house, barn, hay storage, tractor shop, etc). My husband's parents do the same. Our son recently married and received his 25 acres also.

There is also the property we own on and over the levee which is adjacent to one of the very well known hunting clubs which TD members have discussed wishing they were a part of. It is also part of a popular body of water where many camps are. The camps rent the lot yearly from our family member and build their own camps.

While I have seen these locations pop up in TD conversations as places they would like to own/hunt I would never identify myself as being in the family that owns property here because I don't care to be identified. But in reality, a few of the TDers here DO know who I am.

So hopefully that clears up the discrepancy on the # of acres we have. It is very diverse. The 3/4 mile road runs along side the property past all the houses and now to the newest home of our son.
There is also another 1/4 mile or more for yet another remote home to be built.

My life and finances are not hardly braggable. We live on less than $1000 a month. We do not have cable, we rarely eat out, we don't buy fancy things, have credit cards or owe money on anything including property, cards and such. Our money goes into working our land and living a very rural life,

Also, ironically, in real life, I make a good living as a writer and have many fans. Maybe my writing as a living accounts for my long posts and I apologize.

I want to apologize to you for the following statement: Where did you get the impression any of us gave an actual frick about any of this?

my biggest concern is that the OB is slowly turning into the OT with is douchiness and f'd up comments toward other members posts...

some ahole recently posted on someones dog passing away that they would eat it...

come on people... leave that f'd up crap on the OT...if you want to crap on someone save it for their OT postings.

Just curious. Since you have the ability to skip and ignore every post I make, why do you go after them in such an ugly manner? I find that bizarre. There are posters I don't care for and I simply ignore them.

Why not just ignore me? Why go on a mission to engage me in a negative way. I have no ill feeling for you or anyone else on else on earth ( except pedophiles and people like them).

So why the relentless campaign against me? Have I ever done or said anything against you? if so I apologize but i would like to know what I did to offend you so.

We have 4 cats . NONE of them are ever allowed inside our house. They are barn-cats and they do an excellent job of killing rodents in the barn, shops and sheds on the property.

Considering the land they have to cover, 4 is not a huge number of cats.

The outdoor board has been the OT since day one, only difference is the screen names and it's limited to one subject

ETA: oh and I almost hit a deer last night too, maybe I should start a thread about it

EATA: I have no idea where she is talking about

If you feed stray cats they keep coming back. The internet isn't much different.

I love that area. My uncle had a camp there years ago and I remember spending the summer there rebuilding the camp after the floods in the 70's. We would fish and ride dirt bikes more than work. It's my favorite part of the state. You are lucky to live there.

Thanks!! I'm curious that you figured out where I live. It is indeed a great place to live. I feel blessed to be here with so many great outdoor things to do.

Gator season opened today so the guys are out setting hooks. They have scouted out a few big gators and are hoping to catch another big one this year.

I go along with them on hunts but only to take pics of how gorgeous, peaceful and wild it is out there.

No you don't. Never can keep a clean truck unless to are rich to put concrete down.

Flooding? Dam Mississippi river killed my summer at the fishing camp.

You are right about that. Whether we wash our vehicles at home or in town, one trip down the driveway gets it dirty all over again.

Luckily our Explorer was the color of the dust on the driveway so it didn't show the dirt so bad. But our black truck always looks dusty and dirty.

We surely aren't rich enough to concrete it or even buy enough gravel to put on it.

One good rain turns it into an undrivable mudpit and we scramble to park our cars up by the highway and use the 4-wheeler and mule (ATV truck) to get back and forth to the highway.

Thanks you Old Geauxt. It always makes me smile when you call me "red cat". Reminds me of the old days when people used CBs.
