Although they haven't heard all public comments they've decided on this:

"For instance, the commission maintained the requirement for a permit for the nighttime hunting of what the regulations describe as “nuisance animals and outlaw quadrupeds.”

The permit will be needed from the last day of February until Aug. 31 annually, a move the commission, and law-abiding hunters, hope will curtail illegal night stalking and killing of resident game animals."

I've attended before....waste of time. They've already made their changes, and the comments fall on deaf ears. I think this is some kind of public courtesy, or perhaps just something legally required of them.

Been there done that. They explained why they were going to choose the option they wanted instead of the option that the Louisiana residents voted on in the survey conducted by LDWF. Its like a slap in the face.

A lot of the people that use these WMA's are idiots. Even though common sense (and science in some cases) tell you that making an area harder to access will increase peoples hunting success (for ducks at least, see the LAA at the Wax and mouth of the Atchafalaya), they public still doesn't want walk in only areas. It blows my mind how people can argue against walk in only areas on WMA's.

The public would prefer every WMA to look like Boeuf where you could spin around in a circle while you piss and hit a different ATV trail every 1/16 of the circle. People want it easy, but then they bitch about no game on the public areas. Get real.
