My black lab George earned his way into the National Retriever Club Open Championship this year.

The 8 day event just concluded today in Oregon and George was 1 of 83 dogs to start the event and he was only 1 of 3 dogs that did not get handled all week!

He did not win today but basically finished as the second best dog of all the retrievers who compete annually for this honor.

Winner and finalist list

George - earlier this year

You didn’t say.,, but if you played a heavy role or did all the training.., what an accomplishment. Most people don’t realize the amount of time, patience, and effort that takes.

Congrats!

You left out $$$$$$$$$ commitment.
Chris was a former member of the Cajun hunting retriever club prior to moving to tx and trained his first on his own.
Does clint still complain at the line to the judges???

I don’t have time to run my dogs anymore. I have a family, business and no grounds to train on within an hour of my home so I have to have trainers do the work. But when I do have freedom I’ll go back to training myself.

George has been running with Clint and team for 5.5 years, comes home about 60 days a year.
