82lb Motorguide TM with foot pedal will not turn.

Went to use TM the other day and foot pedal won’t budge.
I took to off top of TM and removed the steering cables from gears which allowed the TM shaft to turn so I know it’s not a bent shaft.
Is there anything else like on the pedal that could stop it from moving or do I need to replace steering cables?
Anyone ever did this and if so was it difficult?

Sometimes you can free up the rod going through same as ayou can with a tele-flex steering cable.
First inspect cable externally. Is the covering cracked or peeling off due to underlying corrosion?
Squirt some penetrating oil where it slides. Ideally remove the cable ( you might get away just removing the pedal end ) and clamp upright in a vice. Or whatever you can rig.
Keep giving it a shot of juice.
Automatic Transmission Fluid works best on teleflex. I hope I helped and didn’t mislead you. There are far more knowledgeable folks here than me.

Thank for advice. I’ll give that a try. I don’t really have anything to lose.

You will need new cables. There are 2. One long and one short so make sure you get both. I used to get mine from Jones Trolling Motors. Now Jones Marine Services according to Google.

Take the cable completely off. Slide a piece of fuel hose over one entire end and put a hose clamp. Add Marvel or Kroil to hose and hang somewhere. Try to push the oil though with air after a while if it doesn’t drip after a few hours.

I got it fixed today. After removing the TM head and cables from the bracket with gear, I found which cable was stuck. It was the one that ran to foot pedal heal. I sprayed some liquid wrench in each end and let sit. I then noticed some corrosion at end of cable so I scraped it out. I was then able to move the cable. Put everything back together and it works fine now.
