Not anymore. All of the HD trucks out right now are very very good. Whatever year the 6.7's started going in the rams they got pretty good.

Regardless, it always gets me when people say "well once you bulletproof them they're good engines." So you mean to tell me that all I need to do in put $2500 in it to make it reliable? Coooollllolololol

A few of us have always said, if you could take the engine from the Dodge, the transmission and body of the ford and the interior of the chevy, you would end up with a awesome HD truck.

Now with the whole 2017 F250 - 450 redesign thing we got now.....I test drove Ford, Chevy and Dodge, the new Ford blew them all out of the water to me.

But as was said above, they are all very good now compared to how they were a few years ago.

I had one completely stock and put 130,000 on it before trading it in with no issues

That said the fuel mileage was AWFUL (13-14) and I've heard lots of horror stories

I wouldn't buy another diesel that wasn't a 7.3 (best diesel motor ever built IMO) or a 6.7 (not great but better than a 6.0 or 6.4 at least)

Can't comment on other brands as I've never driven one but frick a dodge

I think you have that mixed up, dodge motor, chevy transmission and ford interior.

Other than the aluminum body, the new HD Fords are probably the best trucks ever built as a whole. Time will tell for sure but the design of the current is very close to what I've always wanted to see out of an HD pickup. Now take that truck, put in a 6.7 Cummins with the Cummins after treatment system and a ZF6 manual transmission and
