I am lost right now. We drew names last week.

What would the OB want in the $50 range?

Speaking of where is the Christmas deal thread that happens every year?

Lotto tickets.

If it’s white elephant style, they’re always a hit.

If it’s just a gift for an avid hunter, he has probably bought most everything in that range that he needs for the season.

Scratch offs are a win either way.

Lotto tickets or a gift card to a local outdoors store.

Headlamp, face mask, some light trigger finger gloves, AA batteries, wet wipes

All things they will have, but multiples is nice. shite breaks, stuff gets muddy or wet...

Edit: Probably just me but I hate gift cards. I always forget to use them or lose them. You can buy a grab bag of just about all the things I listed for $50 or so. It’ll be a better gift too

Bruh don’t get scratch offs.

A good flashlight, pocket knife or multi-tool in that price range are things hunters probably already have, but will still use. One in truck, one in boat, etc.

A good black diamond headlamp. Long battery life and pretty bright. They are small and light as well

Another vote for headlamp(s). I've gone through so many over the years and feel like I never have enough stashed - boat, truck, Blind Bag, kayak, deer pack, etc.

Anything under $50, a real duck hunter will more than likely already have 2 of and another 1 that is broken. Get a gift card to Mack’s or Simmons.

Two different cookbooks:

Duck, Duck, Goose: The Ultimate Guide to Cooking Waterfowl, Both Farmed and Wild

And:
The MeatEater Fish and Game Cookbook: Recipes and Techniques for Every Hunter and Angler

That oughta get you pretty close to $50. Both books have incredible recipes and step by step guides on how to butcher and handle your game. Not to mention the general cooking info they contain is amazing and their pictures are top notch.

Ask him what he needs. Most duck hunters who want new gear would be looking for something extremely specific. It would unlikely that you could figure out what that is without asking them.

A dozen decoys. You can probably find a deal for some around $40-$50 a dozen but may need to jump up to $60

If you want good decoys, $50 will almost get you a half dozen...

shite I remember circa 2010 I bought 4 dozen Gamewinner teal for $120. Albeit they were the coke can variety but you can’t even buy cheap decoys anymore.

An avid hunter will have everything he needs already, but a nice leather duck/goose strap, possibly customized, would be a good gift.

More shells. Bug spray. Batteries for flashlights. Nothing flashy just practical.
