Theoretical Pros which will have such a minute effect on accuracy compared to the 100's of other variables I doubt any one of us would be able to tell the difference. It is supposed to have some extra relief in the case body to help with extraction. I have a 223 wylde and have never had problems from it. Works great. I've also never had problems with the 556 chamber. I would certainly be fine with either chamber. It's way down low on the list of reasons why I would or would not buy a particular barrel. Either one is GTG IMHO

Thanks for the reply, what rounds do you typically shoot out of it and how's the performance?

I'm looking at an upper psa has on sale to go with my spikes lower. It's a 1/7 twist. Am I right in assuming I can just put it on my lower and shoot 55 fr 556 out of it?

What do you typically shoot through it (caliber and gr) and how's the performance?

.223 Wylde is an attempt at finding a balance between accuracy and pressure in .223 and 5.56. I have some Wylde barrels that shoot excellent.

More important than what chamber you get is who cut it. Buy from a company that has a reputation for high quality control, not one that has a reputation for reducing manufacturing cost. When corners start getting cut the tolerances on chambers start to get bigger.

.223 Wylde is a chamber design. You won't find ammo on the shelf labeled .223 Wylde. It shoots .223 and 5.56.

So refreshing... After a few years on TD I didn't think humility existed anymore.

So I'm not hearing any reasons why I shouldn't get one.....

I shoot steel .223 and some brass .223 55 and 62 grain. Cycles and shoots fine.

So this might be a dumb question but why wouldn't you get a 223 Wylde instead of a 556 or 223 rem if it can shoot both more accurately?

It was a cheaper upper and that was what it was chambered in. It shoots accurate for me so Im not sure what difference it would make for me. I was told it was 1:7 twist and could handle higher pressures and not affect accuracy. Im pleased so far.

Yeah I understand, I was asking why someone wouldn't want a 113 wylde? Seems like (obviously I know very little) its the best of both worlds....

223 Wylde is a good chamber. Get it. Though if given the choice I would prefer a 1:8 or 1:9 twist over a 1:7 that the previous poster mentioned (not sure what twist you are looking at). Military went to 1:7 to stabilize the heavy tracer rounds. Lower twist rate would be better if you want to shoot below 55gr. 1:8/9 I think is a good sweet spot for what most people shoot out of their AR's
