I thought I've heard that in 10" ARs you get sub-2000fps velocities? I guess with your experience I would trust you more than hearing it from another person though.

Wow, looks like my guesstimate was way off on the HIGH side.....This website compares the ballistics of many rounds as an inch is cut off from the barrel. Short version: muzzle velocity of 50 gr 223 Rem factory ammo in a 4" barrel is only 1674 fps. Pretty underwhelming. Ballistics By The Inch Surprisingly, a 10" barrel is still pretty good at 2682 fps.

Wow that is very slow. Makes a 55gr round very underwhelming
