2015 Fall Salmon season has begun

My old man flew out to the NW to fish the Fall season with me. We, rather he, is off to a great start and the fish counts aren't very good at the damn yet. Last year we had highs of 67k a day and the last couple of days it is less than 4k. It has hardly even begun!
His 1st fish was a 21.6 lb King
His 2nd was 25.3 lb King.

I'm jealous. Salmon season has been shite in norcal...I mean absolute shite. Good news is that the lingcod fishing has been awesome.

I'm actually headed up to Coos Bay with a buddy next weekend provided the weather is right. We're trying to get some Albacore because the last few seasons have been bad down here.
That's cool that your old man flew out to get in on the action. Mine did the same in early December after seeing pictures of my crab hauls and rockfish hauls. We spent two days crabbing and then sent him back with probably 20 lbs of fresh packed Dungy meat and a bunch of fish. Mom was quite pleased.

Yeah, he's been waiting for months to get out here. The first fish he caught was on my rod but I let him have it. I love to net fish anyway.

Awesome time, bad thing is the strong tide is EARLY as hell for a few more days. Was on the water at 4.
