Anyone do this themselves? Did you buy the bearings separate and bring it to a machine shop to have the hub pressed out or did you buy the complete assembly? Either way, what brand did you go with and where in the BR area can I get the press work done if I go that route?

It's a 4WD double cab V6.

Not sure about a Tacoma, but ive bought Temkin assemblys before. Why make it harder than it has to be?

I've done it it's really not bad. Although mine is not 4wd so I didn't have to worry about the big but that can be a pain in the arse to get off. I bought the already put together hub and bearings but after doing it I think I would save the money and buy the bearings then pull the old gun and hearing off being to a shop and let them do it

It's not hard, but I'd suggest going to Tacomaworld and and buying a complete hub assembly from this guy If you don't then yes, you'll have to have someone press the old one out and the new one in.

That's a pretty good price.

There's another dude on Taco World I bought mine from, bamatoy4x4 I think is his username, in Niceville, FL. I've put one of them on. Dudes legit as far as I know. His assembly was the same price as the Koyo bearing from Napa. Proper CV axle torque is important. There's not much to it.

I came here to ask this same question. I watched a few videos and it's just too much for me to deal with in my yard.

I checked with the guy on Tacoma world included in your link and a couple of others. I went with Bluepit Bearings who specialize in Toyota front hub/bearing assemblies. I like that he had a phone number listed for his business and I called and actually talked to the owner (who picks up the phone himself). A bit on the pricey side but it's very straight forward. No pressing, plug-n-play style. I'll update after changing out this weekend. Thanks for all feedback.

Just swapped out my front bearing/hub assembly this morning. Pretty straight forward. Used Blue Pit bearing/hub assemblies. Was finished by noon even with a trip to Toyota to get a new set of axle grease caps.
