re: 20 gauge buckshot

I do not recommend buckshot of any size for hogs. I had a very bad experience with it that i will elaborate on later. It is worthless on big pigs.

I would have been in better shape with a squirt gun. 12ga 3" OO does nothing to a 300lb pig. Literally nothing unless the load hits them in the head and knocks them out

None of it made it through the fat and i was 5 yards away. Took a load at 5 yards to the head to stop it and anotger one at point blank to kill it

I was bow hunting one morning. Anyway, my dog would hunt me down if and when I left the house on the 4wheeler, so I put his arse on the chain. Anyway, I was hunting more then 3 miles from the house. Right at daylight, I hear something behine me. Sure as shite, it's my dog. Pissed me off. Blew that morning deer hunt which was opening day. Climb my arse down, called the dog, walk to the 4 wheeler and haul arse to the house. Pull the dog on the chain again, grabed my shite to go make a treerat hunt and haul arse about 2 miles from the house. Started my hunt and baged a few rats and all shite breaks loose. Dam dog shows up chasing a rabbit. Was I pissed. I called the dog and when he came, that is when I lost it and knocked the shite out of him with the gun which broke in half. That really pissed me off to no end.

It damn sure woulda been better. I was 5 yards away from getting dirt rolled by that big nasty bitch

I killed three with a 30 06 running across the field saturday my son was shooting his 243 but I would rather him have buckshot cause most shots will be in tight. The dogs are a friend of mine which they aren't catch dogs just bay. Actually plott dogs he uses for bear hunting just hunts hogs to keep them in shape.
