2 piece fishing rod

Hey, thanks in advance for any help!
I am on the hunt for a gift for my dad and need a little help. I'm shopping for a two piece fishing rod, he comes down for business a lot a can't lug a 6'6"-7' rod around. He would use it for trout mostly but definitely some redfishing days.. He has always liked his G loomis rods and most of the rods in the collection he has handed down to me are that brand. medium stiffness, for use with a spin reel. This is splurge present for him so Im not too worried about price (up to 500 or so) as long as I'm paying for quality and performance not extra BS.

Not much help here, both my 2 peice rods are complete crap

It sounds like it would be better to buy two or three full length rods just for him and leave them at the locations he travels to.
