Took the new Ruger to the range to get the scope sighted in. Initial sighting was done looking through the bore with the bolt out sighting in on an object at 100 yards. Realized I did not grab my good sighting targets with the 1/4" grid so I had to make due with a plain bullseye splatter target.

Shots 1-4 were taken at 50 yards. First shot was used to adjust the scope. Was actually suprised how close I got it just looking through the bore. Normally I'm looking at holes in cardboard for the first shot out of a rifle

I was happy with the horizontal location of shot 2 so I made a group with shots 3 and 4. 0.42 x .30 @ 50 yards would put me at sub MOA . Happy with the group. Moved it out to the 100 and started walking the shots up. My plan was to sight it in 1.5" high @ 100 yards because I missread my ballistic chart Going to change that to 2.0" the next time I go out to give me a PBR out to 275 yards.

Shots 5, 6, and 7 were used to walk it up to 1.5" @ 100yards. Once I got it to 1.5" I put the caps back on my turrets and shot for group size. 8 and 9 were right on top of each other. 7-10 made for a 0.60 x 0.65" group when measured center to center. Even though I tried to pace myself the barrel was really starting to heat up now. After shot 10 I took two shots off paper at my 4" gong I had at 100 yards and hit it twice. I've been shooting off a bag this whole time and switched to a knees to elbow sitting position for 11-12-13.

Happy with the performance of the rifle. I mentioned in the other thread the cheek weld is way too low I'm going to have to try to add some type of riser on the stock.

I have used an old football forearm pad for years on my Tikka.

Thats quite the breakdown there . Appreciate it. Seems like several of us picked up a decent gun for a great price.
