12 x 12 pop up canopy and TV

With football starting up and everyone getting ready for tailgating, i have a question that i would like opinions and feedback for.
do you think a 12x12 pop up canopy tent would support the weight of a flat screen TV. i would use two lashing straps to connect it from the tent to the mounting system on the back. i would think if i did it caddy corner the most of the weight the tent would absorb would be on one of the legs, lessening the bowing if i were to hang it between two legs.
the tv roughly weighs 35-40 lbs.
thanks

I think it would hold it but over time might eventually fail. I would probably build an H brace type stand with 2x4's and hang the tv from it then tie it to the tent with some zip ties for balance.

It could till the first wind. All bets are off after that.
Why not just get a couple pieces of pipe and make a frame to hang the TV? You can nail them in the ground or if on concrete, make a T at the bottom. You could even do that with 1 1/4" PVC piping.

What size TV are you looking at? 35-40lbs? Geez, may be time to get a newer TV. Newer tvs are super light, I mean I bought a 32 inch not long ago that must of weighed between 5-10 lbs. I don't know if I'd do 40lbs hanging from a tent, but I think you could do 10-20 lbs without a problem.
As said, it would be fairly simple to redneck engineer some type of base. You could even do something with a 2x4 sticking up that you could bolt the tv straight to. Like I bet you could take a 5 gallon bucket and cement a 2x4 into it and that would work fairly well. May need to stake it down or something for wind and people bumping it. Something along those lines would be simple and cheap though.

Build you a little frame out of conduit and cement it in small bucket.
