Also deep into a swamp. Can’t hear anything due to all the ducks flying.

Beautiful morning and glad to be back out after 2 weeks of no hunting.

Probably my last deer hunt today for the season. My 14 year old son didn't want to wake up.

Just dropped an old cowhorn spike to teach him a lesson.

First hunt with a new saddle platform, wasn't a long one. Mississippi. They're tearing up a shumard oak up against a pine thicket. .444

New platform is the Hunt Arsenal RZR. Was using a Predator XL before. Pretty happy with the upgrade.

Not looking forward to packing this gal out, it's all uphill back to the truck.

Maury County Yanahli WMA
35 feet up a poplar
I love the landscape of this spot, but the small trees are bigger after a few years and it might be my last hunt I in this tree. I have other options though. But I'm here so I'll sit and hope one of the lanes works out.

Does only, let's go!

It's worth it. I had some heartburn about the price until I opened the box and held it.

Claiborne Parish.
Been drinking beer on the back porch and reflecting on life. Bagged six squirrels in the past 3 hours with the pellet gun. Planning on frying them up with a gravy this afternoon.

In for the day, gotta do basketball practice soon. I saw several on the road on the way in, I think they were moving as I was going in, I might have even heard some near my spot but it was too dark. I wanted to be up as the front pushed out, but it cleared a few hours before I hoped. Still, got in a climb and scouted the spot enough to rank it for next time with the boy on the ground.

I hope they move for someone today!
