so.....isis comes to take your life because of your faith. can you honestly say that you wouldn't renounce your faith to stay alive? I wonder how many people would stay "faithful" and get beheaded.

I have no problem lying to terrorists. Especially so I don't become one of their statistics.

Can I still shove my faith in people's faces after being freed? Key question...

I certainly don't see why not.

Might not do any good. When the terrorists attacked the Kenyan university, they demanded that each person recite a quote from the Koran. They very likely killed some Muslims who weren't "good enough" Muslims.

Heck, if a Christian version of Isis held a gum to my face I might be too nervous to come up with a Bible quote--and it would be even harder to do it without making a minor mistake somewhere.

I would tell them I would convert to ISIS...

Then be like "BRB" and call the law when they aren't looking. Tell them to bring backup.

You have to figure you probably will die regardless, might as well go down swinging.

what would you consider "swinging" in this case:

denounce your faith and hope to survive
claim you're a Christian and hope the knife is painless

If it only saves my life, I hope I would not renounce. It is hard to say until faced. Human weakness is a miserable thing. Even Peter who walked with Christ faltered in the face of his mortality.

If it is the difference in others living or dying, I probably do, simply to save them. Because my words and my heart and mind are two different things. I am renouncing, but only out of love for others.

I would start singing Onward Christian Soldiers as I started blasting those heathens.

Whats the situation? How many guys are we talking about here?

Stick by your faith. Who's to say they will leave you alone if you denounce. They will kill you anyway most likely. Might as well say screw off and attack anyone in sight.

If you are a True Christian then I believe you would have to state that you are a child of God. It would definitely be tough if you had a gun to your head and knowing you are about to expire but it's inevitable that you are going to die one day, why not make the Man upstairs proud. If you denounce him then he will denounce you as well.

Yeah, I think Christianity makes you admit it, consequences be damned.

That's a tough one. I know if I renounced my faith to save myself I'd owe God big time and I'd spend the rest of my life trying to make up for it
