What's the worst you've been screwed over by an employer?

I bet I'm luckier than most.

I had one boss who repeatedly pulled vacations at the last minute and screwed over the whole family.

I've put in notice at two different companies where chickenshit bosses made it my final duty to lay off a bunch of people I managed.

I've been "asked nicely" to work overseas during the holidays way too many times.

And I didn't put a stop to that nonsense until I turned 50.

So you are confirming that you are a cuck. Validated what most of us here already thought about you.

I’ve always been that guy who pretty much takes on all he’s asked to do at work, too. I started saying “no” a few years ago, and they rarely even approach me anymore.

Boss was screwing a subordinate and his lover used it as an excuse to do whatever she wanted. Like threw shite at people, turned over desks, yelling at people. Not so much as an HR file was opened on her. All she got was some free vacation days to "calm down".

Worked for a daycare when I was 16 years old that would regularly try to leave me in a classroom alone with 20+ 2 year olds. State regulation required to have two staff members in the room with that many. I pointed this out and they threatened to fire me if I reported it.

I reported it and then they tried to withhold my last check for "snitching". They got shut down about two weeks later. My grandmother knew someone in the city's inspections department.

I knew a guy who worked part time as a route driver for a candy company. The owner made everybody take polygraphs tests on a regular basis because he was so paranoid about theft.

Salary, and also get overseas assignments that I personally ask for. Never had a vacation pulled in my life, at any job.

ETA- not overseas but there were two trips to Canada that I didn't ask for but was told to. But it did not affect any vacation time and I was compensated handsomely, and led to very good things for me.

You're bringing up weird memories of my first oilfiled management job. The married boss would use our apartments to screw women he met at bars. One evening you're there having a beer with the guy, a few nights later he'd pounding on the door at midnight telling you to leave. Happened to several of us.

We eventually met his wife, who was way too hot for the guy.

My first boss, an old lady who was a co-manager at Church's Chicken, would make us stand in the corner if we did something wrong.

I don’t know. I can take a lot of shite.

Once I put one of those play sets up for the owner our company. Summbitch had thousands of pieces and screws. That was no picnic.

I was working in a restaurant as a fry cook when I was 18 and I told the manager they were working me too much and if I could go down to like 30 hours a week so they put me on 7 days a week, come in at 7 for the rush and stay til close and clean up. I quit pretty quick after that

I was a shift manager at a little amusement park. The safe got robbed and they thought it was an inside job. Big boss called me and my buddy in, fired us and called the cops on us. Cops investigated us, made us take polygraphs (@17 years old), and later cleared us. About a year later the manager and his best buddy get arrested for the theft. That bastard pointed the finger at me and my friend to throw the cops off the trail. I really liked that job. After that I went to work at a grocery store until college. frick you Ben, you lying, stealing cocksucker.

Being 50+ and never being respected at your job don’t add up either

I was an area supervisor for Wendy's when I was 19. One of the managers I supervised would get rid of employees by putting them on a horrible split shift: 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. I put a stop to that shite.

He was an older guy who had previously worked as a prison guard. His wife was garantuan. His fat old lady stole a deposit out of the safe (he had it on day lock) and bought a new Transam. There was arrests and firings.

Looking back, she must have just made a down payment (though a big one). I cannot imagine the safe holding $5400. I was helping to open a new store in a different district so my involvement was not direct.
