As a coach from Lafayette on a U12 team, I can tell you, both the players AND the coaches come into visiting parks LOOKING to start shite. There's no two ways about it, there is racial animosity that is out of this world.
Like any other story, if you go looking for a fight, you'll find it. The only trouble with ANY team from ANY park in the entire parish, has been with Brown Park players and coaches. The classless play from the players has come to be expected, and I can almost certainly guarantee, the players on the Brown Park team were running their mouths. Much more so because they LOST. That makes things even worse.
Right or wrong, those teams are building grounds for the stereotypes we hear about in the news constantly.
ETA: I forgot, now the Brown Park dollar cop will have to follow the remaining Brown Park teams still allowed to play in Youngsville.

Two months ago I coached girls basketball against , brown park the cops had to be called. All brown park parents were forced to leave the park. The cops actually had to make them get in their cars and leave before they let us leave. They were trying to fight us, parents and refs. Complaints were filed but brown park coaches said they didn't know the names of parents causing trouble. One of their girls slapped one of ours for blocking her shot, is why it started. I'm glad to see youngsville did something about the situation.

Totally unrelated but when I played little league in Broussard like 35 years ago the youngsville lions were legends. We didn't believe they had ever lost a game. I don't recall us ever having to face that embarrassment.
