You must also be a scuba instructor. I looked into that but working for the cruise lines as a dive instructor sucks

I would gladly get fat and lazy...and burgers, fish fry, and beer would be way more popular and wouldn't open until lunch.

Open up a little bar on the water somewhere that ran inshore charters. Charleston, Mosquito Lagoon, Apalachicola, cedar key..something like that. We'd serve breakfast lunch and dinner and have a guy playing the guitar in the corner every night except for Saturday's in the fall. Group gets there and eats breakfast, charters a 4-8 hour trip, then inevitably eats lunch or dinner when they dock and drinks a few beers. $10 special where we cook your days catch. Deck overlooking the brackish water. Got myself a little bungalow upstairs. The good life.

I did it in 2006. I took a trip around the world. I actually put a good chunk of stuff in storage but that was the concept.

I will do it again, probably in 2020 or so.

Making a living with my friends in a band.

This.

If I could somehow combine being in a rock band on the festival circuit with hosting a travel/food/history show that goes to really cool places, that would be my dream.

I am 30 years old and have over 100k saved up (not OT baller). I am thinking about quitting my job and hiking the Appalachian Trail. No house, no kids, no wife

Then I'll turn around and go to California

YouTube series SV Delos. Microsoft lower level guy quits, sells house, everything, buys used sailboat and for past five years has been sailing all over the Pacific and Indian Oceans, taking on sporadic programming jobs to supplement along with donors who love his channel. I've watched every episode and it's better than anything on so-called real tv programming in the true life adventure genre.

Open a BBQ joint serving my home brew (on a larger scale, of course). It's something I've considered but with kids, wife, and mortgages I'm not sure it's worth the risk.

Yep. I live here on the lake.....

When I toured, I slept most nights in a tent in the camp grounds. Was some long nights asking myself WTF I was doing when I had a nice house and woman back here.

I enjoyed it but to be honest, I never really wanted to do it for a living. I think doing that for a few years helped me be better at guiding....
