Yappy Small Dogs

Why on earth would anyone buy a small dog? I have a pair of chihuahuas that live above me and they bark nonstop anytime I open my door!
I have a Catahoula Lab mix that maybe barks a total of 5 times a month, and even then that annoys me. I just don't see the appeal in telling a dog to shut up all time.
Any OTs ballers rocking a tiny dog? Did you're wife make you get it, or do you just prefer a smaller dog?

One of my buddy's has 3 chihuahuas that I've been around for 10 years. Every time I go over there they bark non stop until i leave. They came with his wife fwiw.

It is also a result of dumb bitches wanting a small dog and having no idea how to train it or wanting to train it at all. They can be trained to not bark, but they don't know how or want to. It is a fricking epidemic.

They are always bad because people don't beat them like big dogs
There is one two houses over from me that barks all day. I called animal control yesterday, and they told me to get a 10 minute recording of it. First thing this morning, I walked outside and set my phone down on record and got the necessary 10 minutes straight of the dog yapping. They are sending someone to my house tomorrow to get the video. Hopefully the fricking owner gets a fine and brings the dog inside. If not, I'm shooting the fricker with a BB gun I brought here for the sole purpose of shooting the dog

Not all small dogs are yappy.
Maggie, our Maltipoo, is certainly not. Our two Lhasa Apsos are quieter still... they've got big dog personalities in small bodies.
Chihuahuas are notoriously yappy... and a bad choice for anybody, in my view.

My dad has two shi tsu s and their awesome. Very personable and mostly quiet. Belle, the girl is a badass. She's as adventurous as can be respected in a dog

I guess I did give my dog a lot of tough loving when she was a puppy, but it's worked for both of us. I rarely reprimand her now, unless she does something really out of character.
I've known very few small dogs that are quiet, I suppose there are always outliers.

We just got a shorkie (Shih Tzu/Yorkie) the day after Christmas, after having 19 years with Golden retrievers. It was my husband's idea to go for a small dog. She's not yappy yet. Or yippy.

Counterpoint against big dogs: making lifesize birthday cakes in their image could get really expensive and time-consuming.
