Agreed. It looks like shite. I don't understand it, especially because dress shoes are awesome.
Eta: pretty sure David Pollack pioneered the look. I only guess that because he always dressed like shite on College Game Day.

I started seeing on business news networks and then SEC gameday shite.
I'm not sure who or what network started it. But it's mainstream stupid shite.
Just dress down. Nice shirt/slacks/shoes/no ties, the dead have no clue, the married couple ain't looking and just wanting a poke. But on major networks dress appropriately, less tennis shoes.
