I had a package that was out for delivery today since 8AM, and I check the status and it has

"Your item is being held at the Post Office in BATON ROUGE, LA 70*** on April 3, 2017 at 5:50 pm because the business was closed. The item will be delivered the next delivery day that the business is open. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender."

This isn't the first time this has happened.

Last week I had something from Amazon that was out for delivery by USPS, and it was marked as delivered. Nothing was outside, or in my mailbox....

Called amazon about it, and it had on the notes that the package was scanned as delivered, but the post carrier will deliver it tmmw.

WTF Mate?!?!?!?!?

:end rant:

im going watch wrestling.

Usps is the shittiest organization to ever exist. I Have so many stories of how much they suck.

Someone is sitting on the couch smoking a big bowl with your stash in it right now.

ill be honest, I hear people bitching about usps all the time and I don't doubt they frick up, but I've rarely had an issue with them. They'll ship something from key west to Seattle for 49 cents though, so pay for UPS next time (who also fricks up, they're human)

I prefer USPS to Fedex where I'm at

Maybe your mail man didn't feel comfortable leaving your package just sitting out unattended. What type of area do you live in?

yup.

in my experience, UPS > USPS > FedEx.

I'm in the burbs. Tons of old folks, with my household being the "young" ones in the neighborhood

It's the gubment, they don't do fast. I hate when a package is transferred to them at the end.

I have had problems with a few things that have come through USPS. If I recall, each time it was something I ordered on Amazon.. Maybe my green tea and something else, but the last time it happened, two days after I made the order, I checked the delivery status and it stated that it would be delivered the following day. It didn't arrive. When I went check the status again, the delivery date had changed to two days later, but showed it was at a baton rouge post office (which I don't have a baton rouge address).

Honestly never had consistent problems with any carrier except USPS.

FedEx is awesome but they don't ship to some rural areas on Saturday. Then again neither does my local Post Office, whose postmaster either can't read or chooses not to. I thought the Amazon service would get them in line but it definitely has not.

FedEx narrows out UPS for best courrier here especially if you are shipping overnight. USPS is a very distant third.

They stay open that late? That must be only certain places. I am pretty sure the one nearest me closes at 2:00 or 2:30PM. You can go in, I think at anytime, but they stop providing service at the time I listed.

One Saturdays they are only open for a few hours and if you get there 10 mins before they are suppose to close, they will already have things locked up and ready to go..

Postal workers feel entitled. These workers are not in a hurry to help you either. Sometimes it has the feel of the DMV.
But at least they show up to work.
Some people collect checks without any effort.

Same thing happened to me several times with Amazon Prime. They mark it as "delivered", so that they meet their contract metrics they have with Amazon. I've contacted Amazon each time this happened. They tacked on a free month of Prime each time I called. After calling a few times, my local Postmaster called me. Since then, no more USPS issues.

If you don't call and report it, USPS will keep getting away with not meeting their delivery metrics with Amazon.
