Would you want to know if a suspected bomb was on your plane?

Or would you prefer the 'technical problem' excuse?

"The crude combination of a kitchen timer, paper and cardboard found in a lavatory on an Air France flight could have been a bomb, but the crew didn’t tell passengers of that possibility. Instead, people were told the plane had a technical problem and would be landing in Kenya instead of Paris.

Sunday’s decision, which was short of the full truth, raises an ethical question about when passengers should be fully informed of problems in the air. But many experts say the crew of Air France Flight 463 did the right thing, avoiding panic and quickly landing the plane. Once on the ground, security officials determined that the device was a hoax, and passengers were told the full story."

How am I supposed to find it, cut the red wire (saving everyone's lives), then be rewarded with free trips to pound town from all the hotties on the plane if nobody tells me there's a bomb in the first place?

I would want to know, but I wouldn't want the whole plan to know. People would be panicking like lil bitches.

Legit question. How do they know there isn't an EOD guy aboard?

Yes, because I have a 100% chance of disarming it. That shite doesn't work like the movies.

Good god man. Why would anyone want to know? Would make the whole landing completely miserable as you wonder if the plan will explode at any moment.

I would pretty much want this to happen exactly the way they handled it. Otherwise, panic would ensue and the dickwad who set up the hoax would get some weird satisfaction from it.

I would throw it out of the plane while flying over Auburn.

I would want to know, but I have no problem with what they did. I'm sure they'll get sued over doing what they thought was right in the heat of the moment. I feel they handled it well

Yes I would, then we can draw straws to see who is throwing it out the cargo door. I will be the straw cutter so I'm exempt from the draw.

Now if something happens on future flights everyone on that plane will be miserable and wondering if their plane will explode even if it really is just a technical problem.

I don't think I would, nor would I want the entire plane knowing either. Can you imagine if they came on the PA and said "attention passengers, not to alarm you, and we ask everyone please remain calm, but we found an item in the lavatory we suspect may be a bomb. We'll keep you updated"? It would be chaos, absolute pandemonium. I wouldn't want that shite on my flight. I'm already uneasy enough as it is flying.

I can't imagine what purpose there would be to informing passengers there was a possible bomb on the plane.

I mean, it isn't as if failing to tell them eliminates their ability to choose to leave the area or something.

In all reality a technical problem is about as concerning as a bomb, in my opinion.

You think the crew would tell the passengers that the landing gear is not deploying correctly? NO, hell no. It's we have a technical problem. Now assume the position.

It would look like the scene in Airplane! when everyone is going nuts and some people are upside down somehow.
