If the crime was done for survival I would back them up.

I don't think I would be able to turn him in but I hope would be able to talk them into doing the right thing, whatever that may be depending upon the situation.

Is the child still living in my house? Can I lose my house and get locked up as an accomplice if I don't turn him in?

It also depends on the crime. I mean is he pulling a Bud from Wall Street type crime of white collar crime, or is he raping and murdering? I'd turn the little bastard in if he's hurting other people in any way, I might even take the kid out myself first. If he's fricking up himself, well they'll learn eventually as long as I won't take the fall too in the process.

if they killed their fiance' and dumped their body I'd spare the courts and prison system the trouble of dealing with them.

IMO: you can't let murder and/or violent crime go.
Reference the Ramsey and Van Der Schoot families.
The guilt ultimately killed the parents.

Very tough question and one that cannot be answered until actually in that situation. We'd all like to think we could/would do the right thing, but I'd imagine it's a whole other ballgame when your own child's life is on the line. Let's pray none of us have to ever make that decision.

Everything that you love about New Orleans is because of parents that wouldn't turn their kids in

My younger brother, 18 at the time, was arrested for getting in a fight with a tow truck driver who was about to tow him from in front of the fraternity house. He almost got it successfully adjudicated all by himself, but the DA sent the pretrial diversion enrollment form to his home address instead of his LSU address. That's when the shite hit the fan...

When my dad found out, I'd much rather face the cops than him.

To answer the question, if it were some minor bullshite I'd handle it.

If it involved someone's property, my child and I would go to that person and handle it.

If it involved some Ted Bundy shite, I'd drop a nickel on my child's arse.
