I'm in the market for some new running shoes.

I'm looking for a nice pair that will last awhile running ~10 miles a week.

Go to a shoe store that specializes in running shoes. They can give you pretty good recommendations. We have a Stinky Feet where I'm located. Find one in your area or a store like it.

A lot of depends on your foot size and shape. Be sure to visit an actual running shoe store so that they can determine your sole wear pattern.

I wore Asics GELs when I ran seriously. Brooks is another great brand, and I have heard good things about Newtons.

DO NOT BUY NIKE.

I bought Altra. The guy running on the commercial looked fast, so I figured it had to be the shoes.

My last two pair have been Brooks, I'm very happy with them.

I dunno. I like to get input from people who know shoes. People put pressure on different parts of the feet. I tend to put pressure on the outside of my feet as I walk. I didn't really realize it until I went to a running shoe store and they made me walk around and they observed me.

Depends on how you run and the amount of miles you log.

Go to a running store and get fitted

Hoka or asics. Are you running 10 miles at once, or a couple miles a day. My gf went from asics to hoka and runs 5-10 miles a day. I'm happy with Nike frees but only walk/run 5 miles a day.

La Sportiva are my choice for running shoes. The Helios in particular. They are geared more towards trail running but will last a fair amount of time on the road. Especially 10 miles a week.

As others have said you have to try them on and see what works for you.

Most important thing is finding out what kind of running shoe you need for the type of foot you have!
Every brand has shoes for different types of feet. Are you a supinator or pronator, high arch or flat foot, etc. I over pronate and have flat feet. Brooks Adrenaline work best for me.
