There was another case this weekend where a cab driver dropped someone off and then attempted to run them over. They're doing themselves no favors recently.

took uber in NOLA twice this weekend

I took an Uber for the first time to get to the concert. Surge was 3.2 half an hour before the concert. Overall, it was a great experience and I would use it again. I asked our driver about the tip aspect of it and his response was that "Uber says it is included." I guess you can't blame the guy for wanting to make an extra buck, but I assume this is frowned upon by Uber.

7 hours before the concert it was 1.5x and cost us $16.50 to go from lakeview to Bourbon St.
around 1am after the concert to go from Bourbon to Lakeview it was only $9 so I assume no surge

I have always offered them cash for a tip, some take it and some won't.
Uber needs to get its arse here soon. Damn unions are being stubborn.
