Models keep bouncing around, NWS mentioning it, most likely in southern mississippi and central louisiana but as we know with these kinds of situations anything could happen
Update: 8:45am 37-36F in baton rouge

Has PJ touched on this situation yet? If not, then I am just going to wait to see what he has to say.. He looks at weather all the time and knows a lot about it.. according to him.

Was it 3 years ago that we had the surprise ice conditions in southern LA, and then a few weeks later a much-hyped winter weather situation was a dud?
It must be difficult to predict the severity of winter weather in the south.

Yes. Late Jan 2014. Both river bridges shut down for multiple days. Ice everywhere.
A few weeks later for Mardi Gras they said everything was gonna freeze and BR got off easy.

Or in 2008 when they said snow flurries were possible and ended up with 6" of snow in Madisonville.

I'm putting $25 down now that it snows in Plaquemines Parish this year.

Snowed in Nola that day
That front followed me the whole way from West Texas that day. I would stop for gas and it would start sleeting. I would get out in front of it only to be rained/snowed/sleeted on at ever fuel stop

What Sonic can I meet you at to collect your bet?

Sounds like a possible rain event or ice event coupled with a wind event likely.

That was incredible. Seven inches+ at my house. Pine tree branches were falling worse than during Gustav. I was getting a bit worried about the weight on my roof.

IMO, ice pellets/sleet is in store for the northshore, you'll have to go north of kentwood for snow, if that. It may stay up by jackson.

Looks like the models are consistently picking it up. Each run has dropped the temp 1 degree each time, moisture is set up properly, and the mix/snow line is moving farther and farther south.

Now, the EURO is trending dry, and the pattern isn't conducive for winter weather for southeast Louisiana, but you never know.
