That would score about a 3 on the drunken Bullfeathers rant scale.

I have a conference there for work in august and I'm staying at the Gaylord convention center.

Any suggestions from you guys on things close to there?

What is there to do around there that I may not find in the general searchs?

The biggest trick the Gaylord pulled was convincing people it was in DC. It's out in bumble frick PG county. There are restaurants in the little fake townecentre but it's not DC. However you could go to old town Alexandria or Capitol Hill. They're fairly close by.

Sen where will you be staying?

If you have some time go up to 2 Amy's in Cleveland park right near the national cathedral. Best pizza in DC. It's worth it. It's about a 3 buck cab ride up Wisconsin from Georgetown.

Also up Wisconsin in friendship heights is a fairly new restaurant "Range" by one of the top chef guys Brian Voltaggio. It's right on the redline FH stop so you can metro there and back or cab it. It's really good.

If your staying at the Gaylord, your best bet is old town Alexandria.

Landini Bros, Fish Market and Chadwicks are all solid.

Fixed. Fun fact - when the President of Russia visited, Obama took him to lunch here. Clyde's isn't a bad burger but it ain't Ray's.

I love the au poivre burgers at Ray's. I'm surprised this style hasn't caught on at more places.
