Today's athletes are a little more fiscally responsible. He probably used his endorsements money and leasedit or bought it used

You likely make 100k (no one on the ot makes less than that) and spent over 40k on a car. Yet, you're complaining about someone buying 250k car who made +20 million just for a sponsorship.

He's getting $5.9 million from the sixers for this season

USA today has his shoe deal at $20m guaranteed with incentives up to $40m.

I had originally read his shoe deal was around $10m

This isn't football.

1.) His money is guaranteed.

2.) A guy like him(1st overall pick, two strong skillsets: passing, rebounding, that can translate to almost any team) will almost certainly get 2, maybe 3 more contracts before the league would toss him out for busting. A guy like him will have to get multiple GM's fired before he's out of the league. Too much potential for all those GM's to pass up.

3.) The price on those contracts will be high. Even if he really looks poor, some GM will likely still throw 10-15 million a year at him to take the risk.

Basically, it would be really hard for him to end up like a Jamarcus Russell.

I don't think a $250k car is gonna break him
