Will a doctor be able to do anything for me?

I have a knot in my back right under my shoulder blade that's very painful. It hit me very sudden yesterday morning, and felt like someone was jabbing me in between my shoulder blade. Today, the pain is less severe, but still consistent. Will a doctor be able to do anything or should I just wait it out? Don't necessarily have the extra time to go see a doctor, so I want to be sure before I go.

TIA

Could be due to cervical nerve being pinched. See a doctor before your back feels like it's on fire.

No, don't bother. I went to a doctor for the same thing and all he gave me was a rectal exam... Come to think of it, I'm not even sure that guy was a real doctor.

I just had a deep tissue massage last week, not something I want to do again.

Which side is it on? When I had gallstones, that was my only symptom--pain under my shoulder blade on the right side.

Only if you like pain killers and muscle relaxers

It's on my right side. Was it just pain or was your muscle knotted? Gf(no pics) gave me a massage last night, and there's definitely a huge knot there.

Had a friend who had pain like that.

When it got to be too bad, he finally went to his Dr.

It was cancer. Not trying to freak you out. I'm just saying if it's persistent, get it checked out. You never know.

I had that before, mine was a cyst which had to be cut out ... lots of relief after they cut it out. I'd go to walk in clinic

You should get a nuru massage instead. They apply pressure in all the right places.

Is this the St. Jude jr high basketball coach? I heard he had a similar situation. If it is, how is the kid doing?
