Well, I'm impressed with your data retrieval skills. I can Internet too.
Business Insider: Men vs Women spending
Creditnet
Men and women both waste money, but on different things. Men are more likely to bankrupt the family gambling and women do impulsively buy materialistic things more often.
A lot of women are great savers and aren't "retarded at shopping" as you say. People waste their money. So what? Are you mad about something your wife bought?

Despite the belief that women are shop-a-holics and can’t resist a sale, there is not much evidence that men and women significantly differ in the department of spending. The only clear difference on how men and women spend their money lies in what they spend their money on, and not the actual dollar amount. If he’s allowed to get tickets to the big game, then she’s allowed to go crazy at the clearance rack.

I was trying to complain but then LNCHBOX came in here acting like a woman.
I'm still not following how actually having experience with something makes me the woman in this scenario. I'd think talking out of your arse with zero knowledge would be the more womanly thing.

We're going to need more proof. Post a pic of yourself holding a note saying "I love the OT"

You look familiar. You are very cute, but you might regret posting your picture. To truly enjoy TD, embrace anonymity, or else spend your days being fed to the wolves.

Why does everyone assume that anger serves as the impetus for starting a thread? Is it so crazy that I think women rely on emotion and buy dumb shite at a higher clip than men?
My fiance has her own money and can buy whatever she wants. I don't actually care what she buys. I just think it's funny the type of things that can be sold to women.
We're not talking about men gambling or spending money on hookers or whatever else. This is also not a discussion about who "spends more." It doesn't matter how much you spend if what you're spending on is a necessity or serves a legitimate purpose. Yes, a lot of women are great savers. But we're talking about the averages here. We know women rely on emotions and are more prone to making purchases without using their brains. To deny it, is silly. That's the point. Women can go shopping and buy all kinds of things that have no purpose because they simply enjoy the experience of buying.
Wharton School of Business: ‘Men Buy, Women Shop’: The Sexes Have Different Priorities When Walking Down the Aisles
quote:
In a study titled, “Men Buy, Women Shop,” researchers at Wharton’s Jay H. Baker Retail Initiative and the Verde Group, a Toronto consulting firm, found that women react more strongly than men to personal interaction with sales associates. Men are more likely to respond to more utilitarian aspects of the experience — such as the availability of parking, whether the item they came for is in stock, and the length of the checkout line.
“Women tend to be more invested in the shopping experience on many dimensions,” says Robert Price, chief marketing officer at CVS Caremark and a member of the Baker advisory board. “Men want to go to Sears, buy a specific tool and get out.”
As one female shopper between the ages of 18 and 35 told the researchers: “I love shopping. I love shopping even when I have a deadline. I just love shopping.” Compare that to this response from a male in the same age group who described how men approach retailing: “We’re going to this store and we buy it and we leave because we want to do something else.”
On the other hand, after generations of relying on women to shop effectively for them, men’s interest in shopping has atrophied.
According to Wharton marketing professor Stephen J. Hoch, shopping behavior mirrors gender differences throughout many aspects of life. “Women think of shopping in an inter-personal, human fashion and men treat it as more instrumental. It’s a job to get done,” he says, adding that the data has implications for retailers interested in developing a more segmented approach to build and maintain loyalty among male and female customers.

So true. It's probably easier to post pics if you live in another state where there aren't a lot of TDers to hunt you down. I recognized a poster in public recently, and it was strange. Worlds colliding.

I'm not too worried, I don't post often, only when I'm bored. I had my picture up when I first joined months ago till I found a avatar I liked. Nobody messed with me, this stuff isn't that serious lol.

In my experience, and myself included, men tend to want things that are legitimately awesome but that are overkill or they might not use. Women want absurdly expensive stuff where the materials and craftsmanship can't possibly come close to the price tag.
Wife:
"I want this Goyard bag"
"Honey it's $4000 and made of 3 sq feet of canvas"
Husband
"I need these Muira irons"
"No you don't, you can't break 100"

Pecker, you are right. Women can be emotional buyers and buy stupid shite. Of course there are differences in between men and women. I'm just pointing out men waste money too, and have enjoyed the work you put into our debate.

I don't think I would have ever posted my pics if I had still lived in BR when I started posting.

Just don't be so sensitive. I'm a lover of women. But that doesn't mean I can't draw attention to their retardation at times.
