Key word is average. The US is a pretty big place. Im sure this statistic factors in all the dead zones. It probably also averages it out between all carriers.

yeah i imagine coverage area also is a big deal. i'd imagine we have a lot more weak areas due to our population being spread out and these averages are just for the network itself. also, about 20% of its entire population is in the Nairobi metro. for the US to have a comparable density, our #1 city would have a population of about 65M

Exactly. If they only used metro areas, we will probably be top 5.

I get 50mb here in DFW on Verizon easily.

God dammit!

I want to be able to open tigerdroppings faster! I'm upset that it took me 2 seconds to open this thread rather than 1.9 seconds!

actually that's somewhat true. pretty sure the reason why mobile phone usage has exploded in Africa was the deregulation of the markets

Why did you put Kenya over those states?

You should have put Kenya over Louisiana. That way we can all see how small and unimportant Louisiana is.

Because the cell and internet/cable companies are allowed to give us shite service at top prices.

While the FCC should be protecting us from these shite heads, they are in bed with them.

We get choppy, shitty service, and high prices. Merica!

1. Breesus is so good. Gracias for all that.

2. Romania is better than usa. So weird.

3. Finland is on their game. They send business mail to lapland by telecommunications, print it off and deliver locally. No driving truck from helsinki to arctic in blizzard.

Kenya's is faster because the people are constantly running past the signal towers on their 25th mile.
