PI vs PD

Plus there is no such thing as "full coverage".

Well for starters uninsured motorist coverage can be used to cover a policyholder’s medical expenses.. can't get that with collision alone.. Plus UM isn't typically an overly expensive add to a policy.

Also, your definition of full coverage doesn't mean the same to everyone..

Maybe if you had a clue what it was for you 'd stop hating it and gladly pay for it.

If you have disability and health insurance, the only thing it covers is your pain and suffering.

No one forced you to carry UM but it’s very useful for when an irresponsible dickhead either without insurance or carrying the minimum hits you. If you don’t want it then don’t get it. It’s well worth a few bucks a month if you need it though. It’s astounding how little people know about insurance.

Don't get caught without it in Louisiana. My aunt got t-boned by a drunk illegal and didn't have uninsured motorist and the hell she had to go through was bad.

Why do we pay for Congress to have the best Medical Insurance that is fully covered for everything imaginable, but tell someone working two jobs to make ends meet that they are shite out of luck when it comes to medical care?

The world is a shitty place run by shitty beings who we allow to not only have a privileged life on our dime, but also allow to make their lives even more privileged because we can't be bothered to pay attention to what they are doing and put a stop to it.

For as much shite that the dems get ( and rightly so) too many on this board are so ate up with team politics to realise that the last time the Republicans were in power, they raised their pay and gave themselves better healthcare while stripping the ability (as shitty as that ability was) of working class folk to get any sort of healthcare.

You'll be very happy you are paying for it when you get hit by someone with no insurance. I think the last numbers I read showed 25% of driver's in Louisiana don't carry liability coverage and in NOLA the number was 40 some odd %.

Absolutely ridiculous and I believe was roundly criticized by everyone.

???

"Full coverage" has nothing to do with UM. They each do totally different things. Most people don't have nearly enough of both.

FUll covearge pays for injuries YOU cause if you are at fault.

UM covers YOU if the other idiot has no or not enough insurance to cover YOUR injuries.

A better question is if you have $200,000 worth of contents coverage in your homeowners policy and your house burns down to the slab. You have to prove at that point you had $200,000 worth of items that burned. Yet, you don’t have to prove anything to pay for that coverage for 20 years. They will gladly let you overpay for coverage that you will never be able to collect in a total loss situation.

It must vary from company to company. My son just got new insurance and you can’t have both collision (or comprehensive - I forget which one) and also have uninsured motorist because it’s redundant coverage. Whereas he had both when he was on my policy through a different company.

That’s bc insurance and most insurance agents is/are a money grab. Once again, as we see everyday in Washington, lawyers screwed things up for everyone
