I used to hate it until I had raw tuna with some soy sauce for the first time, delicious. Add rice and that's sushi

Get Tempura.
There are several rolls at newer places that are basically seafood boudin.
They take a fried shrimp with spicy rice roll it up with something like avocado and deep fry it. Try those before being selfish on someone else's day.
