Why do I have to pay a 'convenience fee' when buying tickets online?

Isn't it more convenient for the seller too for me to do most of the work?

I assume this is just a money grab similar to hotel room fees, etc.

Add that shite into the ticket price so I don't ever know about it.

Dirty little secret is that venues and bands get a piece of the fees

Is it more convenient for you to buy the tickets online or to have to go to another physical location to buy them? I actually agree with you, but that's a likely explanation that they could give.

Because you're willing to.

Remember when airlines instituted checked bag fees in response to rising fuel costs? Fuel prices are roughly half the price they were then and we're still paying them.

You have to also pay the fee if you go to the venue and purchase them there in many cases.

Wait till Amazon gets in the game. Game changer.

No more convenience fees, fewer stuff to bitch about.

Profit.

Well then, that's just stupid, and they have no plausible explanation.

Because you make the decision to do so. You are given a total before purchasing and in order to get that product you must pay the total given. You don't have to do shite... If you don't want to pay it, then don't buy them.
