From the Hill.

quote:

Cher is vowing to exit the United States if former President Trump wins the 2024 presidential election. “I almost got an ulcer the last time,” the “Believe” singer said of Trump’s time in the White House, during an interview with The Guardian published Wednesday. “If he gets in, who knows?” Cher said. “This time I will leave [the country,]” the Grammy Award winner declared. The performer has been a longtime vocal Trump critic, calling the 45th president a “f---ing traitor” and saying in a 2018 interview that he had done “so much damage” to the country.

I get what you are saying but she did say she would leave.

Billboard…

quote:

Speaking to England’s Guardian, Cher, 77, said she is horrified by the possibility that Trump, also 77, could potentially move back into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. if he wins re-election next year in a rematch with President Joe Biden. “I almost got an ulcer the last time,” she said of Trump’s tumultuous four-year term, which concluded with the deadly Jan. 6, 2021 assault on the U.S. Capitol by Trump’s followers. “If he get in, who knows?” Cher said. “This time I will leave [the country].”

She didn’t say this? Are you sure?

quote:

“I was with two trans girls the other night – and of course my own child [Chaz is trans]. I was saying ‘We’ve got to stand together.’ I don’t know what their eventual plan is for trans people. I don’t put anything past them.”

Actually seems like Cher is the person you are speaking about when reading headlines.

You should probably read her quotes and not fall into this category.

I’ll give another better example than the OP.

Whoopi

quote:

Earlier this year, the actress claimed that if Trump were to be elected, "maybe it's time for me to move, you know," on an episode of The View.

quote:

This fool has said — and I know he is the president… This is a bigger picture than him. This ripples out on so many bigger things… Whatever you believe no child should be afraid that their parents are going to be taken away because they are Muslim or because they are Mexican or because they are Black… and that to me is an issue

See these are much better examples of people just reading headlines while keeping their head up their own arse.

You posted in this thread.

Did you read the thread headline and not the content before you posted?

So you are exactly who 420 is talking about?

I can tell you as a former newspaper man, and this was especially true in my day, the folks who pen the headlines are not the ones who write the articles and they are just trying to fit a headline in that fits in the space provided.

And if they read past the second paragraph to try to get an idea for the tagline or title, you're lucky.

Lots of very misleading headlines on articles.

Musk took it a step further and removed the headlines for external articles. Apparently, a lowly picture is enough to intrigue the curiosity of the people of today.

quote:

X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, has stopped showing headlines for links posted on the site, after site owner Elon Musk said it would make posts look better.

Links posted on Twitter now appear as the image included in the article, as well as text in the left-hand corner of the image noting the domain of the link. If users want to visit the page, they must click the image, but it only appears slightly different to how images uploaded to the site appear.

How else are you supposed to karma farm if you don’t put out a statement agreeing and/or disagreeing with a headline-only post depending on the general political lean of the forum?
