1. They’re awesome.
2. They encourage kids to study physics.
3. They are not really provocative. It wasn’t like we were detonating them over Russian territory.

Radioactive fallout

Wasn’t there a treaty in the 60’s that banned this?

Tends to bring down your property value if they do it in your backyard.

Look at how society degraded after we started.
Imagine where we would be if we didn't stop.

Anyone that goes to Vegas should go to the Atomic Bomb Museum. Awesome. In the 60's, they would advertise the test dates and people would go to Vegas and drink cocktails on the roof and watch the detonations. They figured out fallout later I guess.

Smoking, drinking, and getting dosed with radiation. I bet that crowd had some fascinating cancer varieties.
If you want to see historical fiction based on this, watch “Mulholland Falls”. Decent movie, and there are great scenes with pre-breast reduction Jennifer Connelly.

They were also good for science. Something about the fallout helping scientists measure shite

I'd love to witness one. I'm kinda fascinated with nuclear blasts.

Because high radiation levels would be wide spread and then everyone would look like they’re from Alabama

Do you want to Godzilla? Cause this is how you get Godzilla.

It was not a good practice, from an ecological standpoint.
We can get what we need from underground testing and computer modeling.

Just go stare at the sun for about 30 minutes to learn what radiation will do to you.
